Do a PhD at either Oxford, Cambridge, or Dublin, get academic jobs at the other two, incorporate your PhD twice and get an extra two for free :)

It's BOGO deal?

In fairness, I can understand how getting 7 PhDs would turn you into an angry, hulking, green rage monster.

Bruce Banner's mum's voice: Still no MD? That's okay, I'm sure you'll get there.

Meet Story Musgrave: a medical doctor with 6 degrees. Oh, and a former NASA astronaut who flew 6 Shuttle flights (and the only person to fly on every Orbiter). So, Banner is a slacker. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Story_Musgrave …pic.twitter.com/oyR0GdvCOX

4 of those 6 degrees = 1 year programs, & the MD took the typical 4 years. Average time to complete a PhD is 6-9 years depending on subject. Banner was desperate enough about results and funding to experiment on himself, so not speedy research. Must have started at like age 9
-
Do we know where he studied? I did my PhD in slightly over 3y—that's pretty normal in the UK. No idea about elsewhere. That's still 21 years for Banner though, on top of undergrad and all the rest. I guess it's possible he's churning out alternative-format theses for the numbers?

In the versions I'm familiar with, the gamma radiation incident research was at "Culver University", West Virginia. US PhD programmes usually have a taught component and qualifying exams before the dissertation.

reasonably sure most Ph.D. programs wouldn't admit you if you already had one!

I knew a prof had 2 PhDs. She started a math PhD in Russia (her home country), got half way thru & decided she would rather do an economics PhD in the US. So she did. Once she completed it, she apparently felt like it was a waste to leave her other PhD, so she finished it.

In Germany, someone with two PhDs is addressed as "doctor doctor".

But only by the Thompson Twins.
