I think that indicates the SFMTA takes its job more seriously than the police since the police are supposed to arrest the vandals, not the transit agency.

The previous DA, also a progressive voice, in SF requested the statewide locked door requirement be lifted, but the bill introduced by Scott Weiner died in committee in subsequent years.

If it's that hard to secure a conviction for auto theft, imagine how hard it is to get one for breaking the window. Now imagine how hard it is when no one bothers arresting the person who broke the window.
