To be safe did not require those 39 to try and get to the UK. A sad tragedy, indeed, but let’s not forget there are plenty of other safe countries around they could have stayed in instead.

Is it not the case that anyone who wants to claim asylum in EU must claim it in the first country they come in into the EU - and that is not the UK - in this tragic case
