What do you do with the resists and blue waves?
Most Trumpsters are already stuck in their own echo chambers, so you shouldn’t help by blocking them, imo.
But isn’t everyone in their own echo chamber though?
Some more than others. I figure if someone follows me, even if just to troll, they are going to be exposed to my ideas. There’s at least some non-zero chance those arguments may get them thinking and eventually sink in, but exactly zero if I block them.
Maybe some more than others, but still, we do choose our friends w/ common interests and views. We’re also divided residentially politically (urban vs rural) So are u not in an echo chamber? So how did u manage to not be in 1? Tbh, maybe me I’m in my own echo chamber.
Yeah, I think we’re all in echo chambers defined by our group preferences, surroundings, language, etc., but we can expand our bubbles by actively seeking out opinions that counter our own. I try to do this on Twitter by following people I disagree with.
Ok. Just 1 last thing, any good sources (i.e. New Republic, Reason Magazine, National Review) to follow from differing views u recommend?
That’s a pretty good range there! You could add Jacobinmag or listen to Chapo Trap House podcast for socialist arguments. Or Breitbart to see what the nationalists are up too. I don’t endorse either perspective, but still drop in from time to time to see what they’re up to.
Also news collating sites like Drudgereport and Realclearpolitics often show varying perspectives, although drudge is more on the conservative side.
