    RATES RELIEF: Minister for Local Government announces the NSW Govt will pay rates for bushfire-affected homeowners and businesses, following our story on yesterday. Bills will be covered for 6 months, with the option to extend.

    Bushfire clean up costs will be equally split between state & fed govts - the bill expected to be hundreds of millions of dollars. Local contractors in regional areas to be engaged in clean up jobs first. Goal for clean up to be complete, or communities 'feeling relief' by June.

    CHILD SEX DOLL: A 59-year-old man ordered the doll from a chinese company. It is "legally considered to be child exploitation material", while laptops with images sexualising children were also seized. Police arrested the Wagga man yesterday, to appear in court on Feb 4.

    A man has been charged over the importation of a child-like sex doll and for possessing child abuse material. It follows a joint investigation between Riverina Police District and Australian Border Force. Police will address the media in Wagga this morning.

    The wreckage of the Large Air Tanker has reportedly been found by search helicopters. The C-130 lost contact while fighting bushfires in the Snowy Monaro area, and crashed earlier this afternoon. We are awaiting confirmation about crews on board.

    Big-hearted truckies have just rolled into Cooma on the NSW South Coast - all the way from WA 🚛🚚 On board, 300 tonnes of hay - enough to give farmers ravaged by bushfires a boost, as they try to keep stock - and hope - alive. ▶️

    It's a bit windy (hopefully rain 🤞) but how's this display of thanks... Displaced Tumbarumba residents are returning home after being evacuated weeks ago. Wagga people opened their homes, and local businesses offered food, services & stays - on the house, to help. PROUD.
