As a father of a toddler and an architect, you better believe I’ve been adding these in every one of my projects! Be the change you want to see in the world.

In Australia, change rooms are not designated by gender.

We have parents rooms all over Aus. Parents of either sex can use them, they are great, plenty of change tables, microwaves for bottles, searing to feed bubs, little toilets for toddlers.

I understand you don’t get into too many men’s rooms, but I see changing tables available in many of them for many years now.

Do they still have signs on men's room walls ? Well, first of all they have to know what sex you identify as. You could be a male or female.pic.twitter.com/Qajp1AtWNe

Australians are used to having seperate gender neutral parent/babies & toddlers facilities in same locations as men’s/women’s/invalid access toilet facilities. Does USA not have these?
-
Some facilities like airports or highway rest areas will have a single “family” bathroom in addition to the two larger gendered ones but most public establishments have just men’s/women’s.
-
That’s really strange because I’d always presumed the idea of gender neutral parents/babies/toddlers facilities came from USA. Guess not! OMG ... is Australia actually more progressive? What the heck happened to you guys? Even unisex facilities are increasing here.

-
“What the heck happened to you guys” is an extraordinarily loaded question

-
Glad you find the humour
Understand our 8 states/territories very diff. to your numerous ones + differing views/laws etc. & beginning to understand effects of that, but commonly available “family” facilities seems such a commonsense solution - hence the “question”. Maybe soon? -
Oh I assumed the question meant what happened to the US in general...which is a much deeper question and is so ridiculous I have to laugh instead of scream. Commonplace family bathrooms would be great but it’s pulling teeth to just get clean working bathrooms some places :/
-
Yep, I was purposefully specific not general with that question cos I’m pretty clear on what is happening generally. Hope you get the results you need in November to start turning things around. Watching closely from here.
