I probably need to time every last subroutine to see where all the time's going, and see what I can improve...

Damn NTSC! I had timing issues with a near border split for a little Xmas demo I did and all I did was check for NTSC and kept the borders closed! I cheated. No apologies!

I have a vague desire to add a profiling analyzer to vice, recording cycles spent at each memory address, cycles lost to Vic-2 for each that can be saved out for each frame and processed & visualized in a pc tool. I am a bit intimidated by the size of vice to jump in though..
