Cloudflare, swearing it is not a joke, have launched a censored DNS product that out the gate blocks LGBTQ support and aid sites as well as sex education resources. (They have unblocked some of these now in response to complaints, but many remain inaccessible via their filter)https://twitter.com/Cloudflare/status/1245335359413719041 …

It begs the question as to whether *anyone* at CloudFlare 1) thought to test this product before launching 2) had the cultural competency to test LGBTQ & hate sites before launching, and if 1 & 2 are true then 3) what kind of culture CloudFlare has that these were not escalated.

Bro I am BLT myself and I forgive cloudflare, BLT websites are closely related to sexuality and pornography.

What evidence? Content filtering is a tough gig. The methods of categorizing the internet are built by people and people make mistakes. The data is often old or incorrect - especially if it's not a high traffic domain. This is an opt in service if you don't like it don't use it.

The issue is that no one thought to test this pre-launch, and it's not an opt-in service if you're a kid getting this forced on you
