The push to rollback isn't about public safety. The presence of white nationalists in the push to undo the law gives you a hint of what's at stake for many opponents. Let's just hope people who really care about public safety win the day & we give it a chance to work

"Generally speaking, prosecutors could do the opposite of every single thing they currently do, and that would help," said . "We need to be arresting less people, charging less people, detaining less people, and diverting more people."

"Even though Vermont has the first or second-lowest incarceration rate in the United States, if Vermont was a country, it would be right between Russia and Brazil," Marton said. "So think about that when you think about what more can be done here."

Our justice system needs to be about the pursuit of just and thoughtful decisions, not a rush to the finish line. Sad to see Fla Gov undermining efforts by to do her job and thoroughly investigate a serious crime. This move benefits no one.

"Progressive prosecution" really just means we stop swinging at every crime with the blunt force of incarceration. It means we stop asking if a person "deserves" prison, but instead ask if imprisoning that person makes us more -- or less -- safe.

SA Ayala has an ethical obligation to only file criminal charges once there is sufficient evidence of a crime. Undercutting her authority in favor of mob justice is dangerous -- and Floridians should not stand for it.

I’ve been consistent and unwavering: there is no place in a civilized society for the death penalty.
