It’s difficult to sense it when I’ve been tasked to get a visa for my ailing grandma and uncle and every border is closed.. it’s a mind numbing feeling of isolation.

Understand completely. That's politics, politics can hopefully change. In Sweden public pressure has pushed gov to help some Afghans, in the Nordic countries, in Europe I think, the situation is top news. Ppl care, you're not in the shadows. Practically, I hope help will come too

Btw, I don't understand completely. But I can imagine the sense of panic and also the isolation you describe. I do hope things rapidly will change for the better.
