It’s mind boggling really. The one thing - the only thing keeping Afghanistan from thriving is security. Everything else is ripe for economic/social growth. A young & capable workforce, a strategic location, ample foreign direct investment opportunities, etc. Let us move forward.

Security is the key factor for rebuilding of Afghanistan. Last 20 yrs we had everything, but not security. Therefore, nothing changed Afghans life but it got worse. After peace everything is going to be okay.

Taliban not so much but support by Afghanistan arch enemy Pakistan is responsible for the security situation. Failure to stop Pakistan and afghan corruption has lead to weak useless afghan govt won't last into final week in September when the yanks leave.
