But the threats to Bamyan valley are increasing. Adding the increasing population pressure, the agricultural land in the valley is in high demand for uses also other than farming and investors are looking for ways to work around the current legal protections.
There is also a considerable danger of overlaying the local rural system soon by speculative “urban” systems. This issue only can be solved by ensuring Bamyan's 'Cultural Master Plan' is protected and the mission to keep the valley “rural” is maintained.
