Serious question (so be kind with your answers please): if you’ve contacted a publication about an article that perpetuates bad code and asked them to get it edited or unpublished, and they just ignore you and don’t fix it, how would you approach this next?

The most valuable lesson I constantly learn from is not to over-engineer things. Most things can be made accessible in very simple ways if we think about them in a simple way.

I was about to tweet about a few tickets left for my workshop in NYC only to realize they have sold out already. 🙌🏻☺️ Super excited to spend the day geeking out with everyone in my favorite city in 2 weeks inshallah! 💃

Love little case studies like these: how made their jump menu accessible

It’s amazing how ignorant many have assumed me to be about <input type=“color”> after my last tweet about <color>. Rly?? On the other hand, love the extra suggestions for extra features that a dedicated color swatch element could have. Farfetched but totally cool to have those.

🤦‍♀️ I’m not talking about <color> for styling other elements like what <font> used to be. <color> would be used to represent color *elements* like swatches in design systems.

Something I’d like to see in HTML: <color value=“” /> Simple. Extremelt useful, esp for design systems today.

Today I learned (TIL) you can view layers in Keynote. go to View > Show Object List - mind. blown. Totally changed how I use keynote.

Anyone out there know how to get jobs for testing? My mom is 100% blind and would like to help by being a real tester *and* work.

When evaluating code remember you are viewing someone’s compromises not their plans. Assume good intent.

One of my favorite non-techy hobbies is making fresh smoothies. Today’s mix is made of: ginger, lemon, pineapple, and baobab powder. 😊

Today’s smoothie in a large mug with a blue straw.

Working within UK Gov i’ve seen tons of research to double down on select as bad. Users get confused quickly. Options aren’t apparent so users scroll through everything to check, then forgot what they read. Open lists are better or autocomplete style

Top two items on my front-end dev wish list: 1. Container Queries. 2. A cross-browser way to style those damn form elements. And I mean ALL of them — including markers (like <details> markers) and everything else thinkable.
