I think something that's super underrated about companies with a largely older workforce is the huge amount of mentoring and grooming they're willing to do for younger folk

Yes! I’m job searching now. Access to mentorship is in my top 3 requirements.
Young go-getters are fine, but there’s a diff between ad hocing solutions & *actually solving problems.* I care about getting good at the 2nd one. Lots of younger people seem in too big a hurry for it.

Yeah the issue with the Bay area seems like I'd have to compete with my peers for the same mentorship access, or have to work harder to find it on my own.
Whereas in other cities I would find it more readily
