This makes me think of those people well into their 20s/30s who still insist that they can only date those who share the same favorite movies, books, & musical artists. If you’re defining yourself and your social interactions by the media you consume, you’re boring and lazy!

Also- if I meet someone who hates my favorite book(s), that is exactly the sort of person I *want* to talk to! That could be a real discussion wherein we actually reveal things to one another about ourselves / our ontologies—it could be fascinating.
