The problem with this alleged casting decision is that it will have to extend to the entire royal family of Nilfgaard.

This is Heimdall again. Whitewashing and this aren't near equivalent.

Not in scale or societal impact, but I'm fairly certain that the actions are equivalent. I can be disappointed at this alleged casting decision while still lamenting all of the minority roles that get whitewashed.

Wow, can you link me the article confirming that? I’ve been looking but I can’t find anything saying anything like that.

Oh no! A fictional character is being changed when the story is being translated to another medium with a different target demographic! Won't someone think of the poor white basement dwellers?

To white supremacist dumbfucks let me point something out to you about fantasy that you seem not to understand. Mythology is interpreted from RL basis in order to accommodate changing of society. This is like casting Black panther with a black actor instead of using black face.

Ciri's pale skin and ashen hair are a tell tale sign of elder blood, which is what gives her the power that she has. Her appearance is the reason her father knew that she was an elder blood and the whole reason for any interaction between Geralt, Yen, and Ciri.
