    Favourite paper because they managed to publish in JAP with just a cycle ergometer and a piece of paper (but a very good idea and knowledge of psychophysics unlike many current authors)

    Additional strategies should include a reduction in the (perceived) effort required by exercise and/or improving the short-term benefits of exercise, eg improved mood, social interaction, changes in muscle shape and size, etcetera

    The Key is in the "sooner or later". Additionally, not EVERY inactive person develops "precocious illness" compared to active people. These two factors (time delay and probability) reduce the contingency of instrumental behaviour (exercise) to reward (illness prevention)
