Ok last thought about the Harper's letter: The sheer number of signatories who have waded into the transgender debate on the anti-trans side is astounding. I read many of the references to specific gripes in the letter's text as specifically directed at trans critics.

when i say defund the police, i mean the immediate reduction of their budgets, the immediate demilitarization ridding them of combat weapons.

from sohla’s Instagram stories bon appetit’s lack of diversity is obvious from the video content that spurred its massive following, but to find out that only white editors are paid for video appearances? i am disgusted

I think when we reduce legacies to singular brick-throwing moments we do a disservice to the work of our queer ancestors. We shouldn’t focus on just those singular broad events of alleged pan-queer liberation because they gloss over the significance of smaller-scale organising

I will say this until it doesn’t need saying. If you are not protesting but you have a strong opinion about the protestors who are doing it wrong, SHUT UP AND GIVE MONEY AND RESOURCES TO PROTESTORS WHO ARE DOING IT RIGHT. Don’t tweet it. Don’t text it. Don’t talking head it.

Here's something I never get from the "but no one can ever destroy property it's immoral!!!" crowd: the police destroy more property than anyone. They literally seize more property than criminals! Hopefully watching cops riot last night make this clear?

Even as countless videos reveal how fascistic and lawless the police have become, journalists continue to treat police departments as neutral, reliable sources of information. Gross journalistic malpractice disguised as “due diligence.”

Both and won’t even say that George Floyd was killed. The clarity that they are obviously avoiding underscores their commitment to aiding and abetting white supremacy.
