When you start the 1st Mars colony @elonmusk what documents would you recommend using to establish a governing system? U.S. Constitution/Bill of Rights? Universal Declaration of Human Rights? Humanist Manifesto? Atlas Shrugged? Against the State: An Anarcho-Capitalist Manifesto?

A company is a subset of a nation and therefore can be run along different lines. Sergeants do not run squads in the same way that Field Marshals run armies, and vice versa.

The reality is that Populism doesn't have staying power. It loses outto procedural control of leaders of industry and civil service. The secret of our time is that enshrined direct democracy is simply populism as the only legitimate politics.
-
Is it really populism if it’s among the 200 or so 145 IQ engineers in the first mars colony
-
If you don't think high IQ populism leading to bad decisions is a thig, you should check out open source project drama. The best ones 'benign dictatorships' led by founders.
-
Open source has no barriers to entry or entryism, unlike a mars colony
-
Direct democracy guarded by harsh immigration controls sounds familiar... (Though I will grant using the gravity well makes for one heck of a wall)
-
Familiar in what sense? I can’t say I’ve ever heard of such a state, apart, perhaps, from a pirate ship.
