Assuming security, trying out new activities and tactics seemes clearly the right choice for unlocking more from life.
Yet few that are relatively secure in our society do so. Even when risk to existing goods is very low.

Is the cause human nature and complacency? Or do institutions only grant security to those who do not try new things through processes like hiring and admission.

If we are only giving security to the risk averse and novelty avoidant, we waste freedom on those who don't make use of it.
