Appearing on #Jeopardy was the thrill of a lifetime, easily the coolest thing that has ever happened to me. I was honored to share the stage and compete with Odessa & Matt! Despite all the recent drama around the show, I'm confident that this game we all love will endure.

re: AMC's "Sightline" pricing, well, we live in the NYC suburbs, where standard movie tickets already cost $15-18... and — again, see privilege note in tweet above — an extra dollar to sit where we want to sit isn't a make-or-break proposition for us (also, we don't have kids)

it's both, I think I am the 1% here: my wife & I just subscribed to Alamo Season Pass because we like going to the theater enough that $20/month for each of us will pay for itself (in just 2 films/month!), and because we're privileged enough to have the disposable income for it

1, 2, or both? 1) in their desperation to stay alive, movie theaters finding any reasonable way to bring in extra revenue is understandable 2) in their desperation to stay alive, movie theaters will eventually price themselves out of business / out of the mass market

anyway, please read ' very fun piece because it has great lines like "Cleopatra’s boobs are going to make you feel bad for ever feeling excited about boobs in the first place." and also because if you do, maybe she will finally stop tweeting about this damnéd game

I played the PS3 demo but the only thing about Dante's Inferno that sticks in my mind is the commercial set to Bill Withers' "Ain't No Sunshine" I did not, however, remember that it was a SUPER BOWL commercial, let alone one with the tagline "Go to Hell" youtube.com/watch?v=9rbeAG

everybody should play DANTE'S INFERNO (2010), except also, nobody should play it because it is completely unhinged in every possible way polygon.com/sub-gems/23584

For ages now, I've done 24-month payment plans and upgraded pretty much once the phone was paid off. So now I'll have to keep the S23 for 3 years — or, if I want to upgrade after 2 years, I'll have to make a payment equivalent to 1/3 the retail price (almost $300) at that point?

Hey, people who follow the smartphone market: I was looking into pre-ordering the Galaxy S23, but... I'm on Verizon, and it looks like they now force you to do a 36-month payment plan if you don't want to buy the phone upfront? Am I missing something?

🎉 It finally happened! Central Park reported 0.4” of measurable snowfall early this morning. This is the first measurable snowfall of the season in NYC, and the latest in the winter season that NYC has reported its first measurable snowfall since records began in 1869.

lemme come clean: when we were house shopping in 2021, I told my wife I didn't want to buy one with a non-gas stove (we'd had a modicum of not-great experience with her mom's induction range) now I'm dreaming of switching from gas to induction in the house we ended up buying

This is controversial, but I think it’s ok to be a person that used to say that you prefer gas for cooking and then change your mind after getting new information

“That is one of the great contradictions of corporate life,” Ms. Sucher said. “All corporations say ‘People are our most important asset,’ but they don’t really seem to believe that.”

Mass layoffs now feel like a fact of corporate life for so many — but it didn't have to be this way, and it never has to be as chaotic as it's been for so many. I wrote about what the past few weeks of job cuts have felt like for workers in media and tech nyti.ms/3wAiZGZ

Anyway, I was really excited to check out Hitman's long-awaited Freelancer mode, but I guess I'll just go back to Hi-Fi Rush, which I played for about an hour and a half last night and very much enjoyed!

Every so often, I run into a brick wall of PC game frustration, and it's super dispiriting. When you don't have much free time for gaming, it really sucks to waste an hour of a Saturday afternoon trying to figure out why 3 won't recognize your controller all of a sudden!

this is rad also, say what you want about the movie, but 13-year-old Samit thought the soundtrack ruled... and IMO Limp Bizkit's "Take a Look Around" still slaps

I fuckin did it! Here is the trailer for Mission Impossible 2 taken from an abused VHS Blockbuster copy of Runaway Bride, captured entirely via the RF signal of a 30 dollar VCR and software decoded entirely in Linux.

I don't know if anything is gonna come of the Ticketmaster hearings on Capitol Hill but my wife and I just bought tickets to The National at MSG (yay!) and the fees were 29% of the face value (nay!) 🙃
