As an example I've completely changed my mind on proportional representation I use to think FPTP gave you stronger more stable Governments. But now I think coalitions lead to better Government (on average) because there is ongoing process of negotiation and persuasion.

having married an Irish woman I now have a broader perspective on the whole Northern Ireland issue. I watched an Irish news history program and the coverage it gave to the early 80s was completely different to what I grew up with.

Drugs. The so-called ‘war on’ approach isn’t working and never will. Has to be about education and rehab and a totally different prisons policy.
