If I were a lawyer for the artist, I would be screenshotting the hell out of this for the eventual court case. Also, he really is doubling down on that Bond villain thing, isn't he?
Lmfao these tweets only help Elon. 1st tweet offers to take the design down, 2nd tweet says his artists will change designs in future, 3rd tweet offers compensation. Bragging isn’t illegal
But he only offers compensation after saying it's ridiculous that they would want it. He's basically saying "well if money's going to stop you bring ridiculous" and rifling through a overstuffed wallet which is rude and dismissive of intellectual property.
Your not wrong and he has gone about this the wrong way but I was talking about the tweet in regards if they were to be used in court they couldn’t just say he was rude, feelings aren’t facts. And fact is he offered compensation. Truth is this could all have been easily avoided.
It's still a fact that he's displaying a disregard for intellectual property. Furthermore he thinks he's done right by the artist by taking it down, offering money and claiming that despite being uncredited there's been exposure.
"Consciousness of guilt" isn't a feeling, either. It's a fact that can be shown through evidentiary proceeding.
Fuck that. Fuck everything about that "getting paid in exposure" nonsense. And how was he even betting from "exposure" if people thought Musk drew it? And also, Musk was clearly benefiting off it himself without credit. Just hate people that have such little respect for artists
Typical case really, artists name and credit is nowhere in sight, people think someone else made it and people defend this crap saying THE ARTIST SHOULD BE THANKFUL FOR THE EXPOSURE. What exposure?! And even if there was, just get permission fffff.
Personally I thought Musk was doing alright until he pulled the "you got paid in exposure" card. He said he didn't know, someone else recreated it, and most importantly, that they would remove it. And imo if someone were to steal work, just take the damn thing down and apologize
If you decide to work in the creative world, I'm 99% sure you aren't driven by money. If that's the first thing you jump to after finding out something like that, you're working in the wrong field.
Artists need money too. Their labor is just as valuable as anyone else's.
So unsurprising his reaction is "you peasants should be grateful for my attention"
“bUt I pAiD yOu iN eXpOsUrE”
This is how people get truly rich - they steal stuff.
Yeah this cartoon is what made him rich

No, but I'm sure other stuff he stole helped make him rich.
