Seems like an illegal six figure payment to conceal an affair during the last election might have actually taken this President down if we weren't all waiting for the end of this concocted spy thriller we're living in.
We sit and watch the President commit blatant crimes and impeachable offenses over and over again (hush money, emoluments, corruption) and don't do anything about it because we've all been told that Mueller is going to produce the REAL goods, and we just have to wait.
The problem is, by not calling for impeachment each and every day, Democrats have signed off on the next President using the White House to enrich their own business interests, stoke white nationalism, and engage in blatant corruption. Just as long as Russia isn't involved.
Btw, the thing we're all waiting for: a smoking gun that Trump worked with a foreign adversary to win an election, isn't unique to GOP presidents. See Reagan, Nixon. (and this isn't to excuse the behavior--they should have all been kicked out of office, too, but they weren't).

Trump had the wind in his sails. The economy was doing well , unemployment was continuing to go down , the Dow was strong . Now he’s not so invincible, growth is cooling , the Dow is down , the Dems took the House . And frankly the GOP got what they wanted out of him .
2 enormous SCOTUS picks and their coveted tax cuts for the rich . Trump is expendable at this point .
