there's a big deal incident that just slipped under the interenet's radar which I'm SO HESITANT to post about, because I haven't figured out a way to talk about it that won't devolve into just a hate mob on one guy

bc not only does online conversation actively punish nuance and reward emotional charge, it's genuinely hard to be conscious and considered when you're being faced with tangible threats so the little energy we have gets poured into the cups with holes in them

there's a labor issue and an existential issue, and these are 2 (related but) separable things there's technology and there's the system it's entering into and distinguishing that relationship is SUPER VALUABLE but most of the convo is stunlocked

these spaces will probably be rendered p irrelevant and untrustable in a short amount of time but the social climate + the tech itself is making me question plans i had to try opening these convos w people in my circle

i think i've tried to walk from one place to another, but that was probably a mistake. i don't see anyone talking about building social contexts that let these things be existentially manageable. there's so much wasted time

it is kind of distressing to watch the conversations around ai be 99% knee jerk reactions and unproductive internet squabbling instead of building actual infrastructure to deal with the problems the tech presents
