Do either of you think that this may help more people on the Left and Right ends of our discourse embrace the idea of changing their minds? Can it perhaps foster more open-mindedness within our national conversation?

Haha no, definitely not. I'm on assignment out in Cali. The military seems to frown on any substance that Sam and Joe Rogan would have deep conversations about 😏

I'd like to know why I should trust the science in this book. If I get a good answer to that question I'll consider buying a copy.

Are psychedelic microdoses a realistic candidate for a future antidepressant - replacing SSRIs like Paxil? Also, how could psychedelics be regulated in the future while still allowing people to have high dose experiences if they want to? How do psychedelics compare to meditation?

After trying psilocybin a few times in my life, I felt more empathetic and perceived myself as more connected to the world. Do either of you have an explanation for this phenomenon? Do you think psychedelics amplify our base instincts or do they change our minds in other ways?

If psychedelics are a short cut to dropping the illusion of self, is something missed or lost by taking the ‘short cut’ that can only be had by meditative or contemplative practice? Are psychedelics doors or windows?

What if anything do psychedelics tell us about the more philosophical questions of consciousness? E.g. self vs no self, dualism vs materialism, qualia vs no qualia.
