Wow I would never have expected something as misleading as this from you. Here's the actual quote "Moreover, 53% of students believe "promoting an inclusive society" is a higher priority than protecting free speech rights."

They never said it "wasn't important". When asked to prioritize their concerns in a list, something else concerned them more. That's all it's saying
-
Here's another quote "70% of students felt it was more important for colleges to have "an open learning environment" with diverse viewpoints, even at the cost of allowing offensive speech, than to create a "positive" environment by censoring such expression."
-
If I understand how this works correctly, by accurately calling out Sam Harris you're misrepresenting him and you're a bully. Right?

Sam, please, some real talk: is this truly your greatest socio-political concern right now?
-
If not, it should be.
-
Yeah an authoritarian president trying to change libel laws isn't nearly as dangerous as kids with barely any power not wanting to hear dumb ass Charles Murray talk about the Bell curve. Thanks for the excellent point.

Yeah, I actually used to really like Sam Harris. But to promote this idea like it's even close to the authoritarianism of people in power right now is insane.

you are pretty clearly one of those, as you didn’t read the linked article, as the sources say most college age people support allowing speech, but preferring a more welcoming environment, infact, support for allowing racist to speak is about 60 %
-
"Moreover, 53% of students believe "promoting an inclusive society" is a higher priority than protecting free speech rights.". I read that as, 'inclusivity' at the expense of 'free speech'.
-
on campuses, where they would prefer a better learning environment then purely freedom of speech. so they would probably want respectable conservatives to speak, rather then literal nazis or people meant to anger people
-
I have observed that colleges / leftist activists are incapable of differentiating between "respectable conservatives" and "literal nazis". Anyone who holds conservative views risks being labeled a "nazi" by those leftists who disagree with his/her opinions.
-
guess i could say the same for liberals, who if say something slightly left wing, get called a commie, or simply get called one for not being right wing. it happens to everybody, and if you can’t deal with it don’t speek
-
Are you seriously suggesting that left leaning speakers are just as likely to be protested as right leaning ones on college campuses? I mean I'm left-leaning, but it's obvious to me that those being deplatformed are mainly conservative.
-
You're right. Even those who are so far left they hold Marxist and even communist views don't tend to get protested, let alone deplatformed.
