I could almost hear the avacado toast sitting at Ezra’s side throughout the podcast.

I love avocado toast

-
Doesn't everyone love avocado toast? I think Mr Holland is trying to say Ezra's thoughts were fresh and zestful like an avocado. And that he made toast out of Mr Harris.
-
Never. Quite the opposite.

I like your podcasts Sam and agree with most of what you say, but have to admit that in this particular encounter Ezra did come across as the more mature individual in the debate
-
Both were civil, but Sam seemed angry and dismissive of Ezra. Ezra on the other hand, despite being a little to forgiving of identity politics in my opinion kept his calm and tried to have an honest debate
-
I disagree, I found Ezra's constant chuckling annoyingly condescending.
-
I find this tic increasingly common among the left, I'm not sure they realize how unserious it makes them seem.
-
almost all people (probably all) have conversational tics, left or not. i agree that ezra came off as more mature here and i've never really been a fan before -- sam's inability to acknowledge his own biases (i mean *really* acknowledge them) is troubling
-
You're wrong. He actually clearly stated his biases.
-
sort of, but it felt like more of a cop out like when someone asks you what your weaknesses are during a job interview and you go "i just care too much"
-
Yeah, well, my bias is that I think Sam actually tries to remove his biases from his intellectual endeavors... this Kline guy clearly does not.

One argued data should be allowed to be openly discussed without fear and without accusations of bigotry. The other argued data is shaped by history and need to be preluded by context.
-
SH should have padded the Murray podcast with history of inequality, because the subtext is all what the left is hearing. I guess the Glen Loury’s advice played a role here but when the subtext is so loud, it is prudent to lay it out.

Two hours of Ezra missing the point, and two hours of Sam agreeing with Ezra's off topic opinions. Frustrating two hours indeed.
