guns are made to kill people. End of discussion. That's the primary use for it.

yes, but there are already many guns in circulation. Do we trust the government to do what is right with their power at all times?
-
are you gonna attack a government that has drones and jet planes with a gun? Grow up this isn't Grand Theft Auto. Your government is so corrupt yet no one is attacking them you're just fighting with each other
-
In a hypothetical situation of us civil war, the guns would be used to kill the operators of drones and jet planes
-
si...some balance of power. I don't intend to use a gun ever. But I sure as hell don't trust others enough to let them have an arsenal (gov. or civilian) while I walk around with my hands and feet only...

As a nation we really need to step up our thoughts and prayers game. Obviously the previous amount of thoughts and prayers weren't enough to stop another massacre so we need to really increase our thoughts and prayers output since that's our only solution.

a true and honest intellectual should reform his thoughts in light of new information and experiences. you clearly haven't done that.
-
US homicide rates are trending downwards. We are headed in the right direction. Intellectuals would look at statistics like this and the big picture, instead of indulging in a confirmation bias based off a highly visible tragedy.
-
you must have you head in the sand quite conveniently. this is the 19th school mass shooting in 2018.
-
Confirmation bias. Humans are not conditioned to live in a rapidly moving world with non-stop 24 hr news cycles. Making rational decisions is tough.

I wish you moved a bit to the left of this issue further considering how dire it is
-
You obviously don’t understand His position on gun control.
-
No I do, it’s not rocket science, he falls on the Center probably, he is the most centrist guy when you actually think about it
-
Nuance is difficult. He thinks owning a gun should be like getting a pilot license..with exorbitant insurance rates and everything... how should he ‘move to the left’?

"If a person enters your home for the purpose of harming you, you cannot reasonably expect the police to arrive in time to stop him." If you think in an urgent situation you'll have time to get to the safe, you've never been in that situation.
-
Oh...you think we keep all our guns in a safe while we sleep? How fast can I unholster a gun thats 8 inches from my head on my nightstand?
-
THIS!!!
-
Wow! What a land of the free, living in such a safe, peaceful society. Life must be a ball.
