You should get @bariweiss on the podcast, Sam. She was excellent on @RealTimers and she has nuanced views on important issues. Hard to find straight shooters like her these days.

Next after global warming and nuclear war, this silly outrage culture is the most likely candidate to end civilization.
-
Undoubtedly all these threats will soon become intertwined in ways we cannot begin to imagine.
-
To the extend that the US electing a corrupt mythomaniac doing his best to trigger a nuclear war while accelerating a climate catastrophe is a reaction to the political correct outrage culture... they already are.
-
Great summary of our current situation. I am starting to think that this seemingly inevitable outcome of the advancement civilization explains much of the Fermi paradox.

For those of us who don't follow Twitter drama, can someone fill us in?
-
BW tweeted a pro immigrant Hamilton lyric celebrating an Olympian who was (trigger warning) not an immigrant, but a daughter of immigrants
-
That's pretty tame. The
@YouTube black creator drama is far more juicy. -
It’s tame cuz it’s so dumb, but the reactions were so extreme the level of phoniness to the “outrage” was noteworthy.

The only thing she should be sorry for is deleting her tweet and letting the sensitivity brigade smell weakness. But they were out to get her already for daring to be a woman who doesn’t perfectly toe the
#metoo
line. - 1 more reply

reduced to memes here because I don’t even know where to begin with you siding with a journalist deliberately mislabeling an American as an immigrant just for kickspic.twitter.com/AGPsGVZ4JB
-
Hmm, when I tried to read her mind, I got nothing. Can you teach me how you do it sometime?
-
No special powers required, friend. She literally said she was aware the athlete was American but just decided to take “poetic license” to mislabel her anyway. Ta da.pic.twitter.com/Yxwk6dHNmY

Fair enough. But to the bigger point: Nagasu is the child of immigrants. Bari is trying to illustrate how immigrants enrich our nation. Bari doesn't care exactly where Nagasu was born. You seem to care. So does the Right. I do not.
-
Ah I knew you were being modest, you CAN read minds! darling, that Weiss doesn’t care where Nagasu was actually born is *my* point. She’s erasing the actual facts of her life on a whim. Call me when she does that to a white American.
