Been a huge fan of yours for years Sam but I'm uneasy about you sharing the stage with such an intellectual lightweight like @benshapiro who spends most of his days dunking on 20 year old arts students. And this..pic.twitter.com/ZlKWSCHHuQ

A quote from 8 years ago nice job man
This one is from 2015 then, and last month he claimed "If you are a Jew and you walk into East Jerusalem, your life is in danger. If you're an Arab and you walk into West Jerusalem, there's no problem at all" http://www.breitbart.com/jihad/2015/10/19/six-lessons-learn-palestinian-knife-intifada/ …pic.twitter.com/StJzJPQrLa
And thats wrong because? Ohh and i am a Jew that lives in Israel.
Thank you guys for a tremendous podcast. We need more discussions like these.
Look at you listening to Sam Harris podcasts.
Haha. I don't agree with him a lot of the them but I respect his thought process and some of his arguments. You put me onto him though. This one was fantastic.
I figured you'd like that one. I'm also a big Shapiro fan.
Am I the only one still waiting for Sam to answer Ben's question? Weak tea.
"I'll get to that in a moment", it felt like an evasive intellectual dance. Might have been tolerable at triple speed.
"Evasive intellectual dance" is exactly right! It wasn't anyone's best and I was left wanting. Sorely disappointed in the entire podcast. Although I did enjoy Eric.
This conversation persuaded me to check out Waking Up Podcast #41 with @EricRWeinstein. Bright men in honest, warm and challenging conversation that improved my day - and I think, my mind. Total pleasure. Recommended. Thanks both.
Great podcast. @benshapiro is very reasonable, though there's a point he refuses to understand: Judeo-Christian values and revelation are as relevant to a modern conception of morality as bloodletting is to medicine, or astrology is to astronomy. We just know better now.
If you think judeo-christian values are irrelevant to morality watch Sam get his ass torn apart by William Lane Craig on morality
Umm, no such thing happened.
If you cannot logically follow the contentions that Craig defended that sam didn’t respond to and only paid attention to Sam’s Red Herrings I suppose that you could convince yourself of that
WLC says you can't have morality without a supreme being. SH says there is no supreme being and yet morality can be pursued. SH has a dynamic and evolving view of morality. WLC has an authoritarian and self-serving view of morality.
Ben really isn't all that smug.
Maybe you and I have different threshholds for what we consider very smug. He sometimes gets snarky when he's angry or is trying to emphasize a point. I agree that it can be annoying, but I don't find it distracting.
Have you watched his episode on Joe Rogan's podcast? I thought he made a lot of thoughtful points. Particularly about how the alt-right doesn't understand what political incorrectness actually is, what the point of it is, and how it's not the same thing as simply being an asshole
