How's the #meditation app coming along, Sam?

Wondering the same! Counting the unknown days here

-
was looking forward to something other than/better than all the other
#mindfulness#meditation#apps -
I do like his guided meditations! But it can be a bit tiring to picture the Eiffel Tower, a red bus, and George Washington every day

-
Checked out the
@choosemuse#EEG#biofeedback headband yet? http://www.shareasale.com/r.cfm?B=635671&U=1109457&M=54749&urllink= … -
I did! But I still prefer the guided ones. Specifically Sam (but everyone is different)
-
Any other recommended guided ones other than Sam's?
-
Coincidentally enough

"I've got some really great people coming up..." "Douglas Murray... Scott Adams..."pic.twitter.com/uT3PGu01a3
-
This is disingenuous. No honest person thinks that Sam suggested that Scott is great, when listening to this...
-
Maybe take gifs less seriously.

I think the way your tweet reads is misleading. Maybe not intentionally. I could've been more charitable, I guess.

Interesting!
@kevin2kelly seemed much less anti-AI-safety in this conversation than in his recent Wired article. https://www.wired.com/2017/04/the-myth-of-a-superhuman-ai/ …Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

Nice work on squeezing 'orthogonal' into the conversation!

The idea of us *accidentally* creating conscious agents able to experience excruciating suffering doesn't track at all for me.
-
How could these functions write themselves into an agent without us doing so? Everything a program does has to be modeled into it.
-
The only way we'll have conscious (like us) machines is if we get to a pt where we understand consciousness enough to model it in them imo.
-
Yeah, I just don't buy this being an *emergent* property of a machine brain. I could be wrong, but I'm not yet inclined to worry about this.
-
Haven't listened to the pod yet, but if C isn't simply the result of increased intelligence, how did we obtain it?
-
At best "intelligence" is a measure of machinery. More sensible to say that consciousness is an evolved function that increases intelligence
-
That increasED intelligence in specific biological computers. Computers which had poor parallel processing capability (vs. today's machines)
-
Yes, though I suspect some *variant* will be useful for both. And I'd actually give parallel to brain and serial to the "computer"
