I'm still unclear on CM's answer to "why study race differences". Surely one could e.g. oppose aff action w/o needing to know about IQ, etc.

In other words, it's perfectly fair (and scientific) to look at the results even if those results could be misused by someone with an agenda
-
I agree, I guess I'm still not 100% clear on why someone would study it in the first place, of all the things one could possibly study.
-
I know what you mean. A thorny, even dangerous, set of issue even in the best of cases. Lots of room for bias/abuse of data.

Can't judge individuals Harris says, but there is a difference bc of IQ tests, validating the idea of a general racial superiority. Amazing.
-
Correction: Shouldn’t judge individuals b/c differences within groups is > differences btw groups. (But does not invalidate findings)

Irrelevant to the irresponsibility of the message

Now if we only had a final solution to the "Brown People Problem".

That's what you got from the podcast?

Sam, just ask yourself, sincerely and objectively; whom does this dialogue serve best? Who will reference it, for what motive, & why. Thanks

The childlike knowledge of genetics and biological anthropology is real in this interview. You have a loyal fanbase
@SamHarrisOrg . -
would you give me an example of the "childlike knowledge", if it can be done in a tweet, so that I can see what you mean by it?
-
GuGu x GaGa = GuGa
-
Well, I don't know what that means. My best guess is it has something to do with GuGa heterozygotes.
-
Was going for an example of babylike knowledge of genetics. Or is gugu gaga not universal baby talk?.. I'll show my self out of the thread.
-
Ah, I see. Gaga works, but I didn't yet have gugu in my vocabulary for english baby talk.
