Can just picture the uprising with robot Christopher Hitchens exclaiming: "We're created sick, and then ordered to be well!"

@kjevol@danieldennett Even if the robot is in control, it is purely based on parameters set by man. Mistakes being bad code. -
And humans, on parameters set by nature.
-
While true if we go deeply philosophical, the two are currently on very different scales.

@kjevol@danieldennett You don't punish robots, you fix them. Jail isn't medicine -
That'd generally be preferred for humans too.

Its just a rephrasing of what you said earlier. Robots will learn from other Robot's punishment, like we do from other humans.

@kjevol@danieldennett depending on how the robot is programmed - it would purely be a question of preference, not sense.Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

@kjevol@danieldennett it's up to the prerogative of the owner of the robot (builder/buyer) what should be done ...Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

Sam,this conversation w/Dan had the feel of religious intractability. He was protecting a sacred ideal from empirical scrutiny

Ok,maybe not *religious* intractability...but F.Will def a feature of existence Dan not fully willing to take on w/earnestness

Surprised Dan so defensive of a narrative for political value rather than honestly addressing the *evidence* of free will.
