Came in excited, left disappointed. NDT lacks either the courage or intellectual honesty to state a clear opinion.

Also disagree with your non-astrology example. I'd vehemently identify as a non astrologer if astrology ascended to power.

NDT is pretty off base on Maryam Namazie imo. You specifically told her you didn't mean 'all' Muslims repeatedly.
-
I don't think it was possible to be more clear. She was intentionally ignoring nuance and pushing her narrative imo
-
Oh, no, they talk about that? I still haven't listened, trying to buck up to a full podcast of NdGT. Maybe I should just skip.
-
It's not that interesting imo. I'm honestly even less fond of NDT as a thinker now.
-
Even positions I agree on (like his position on AI not being as threatening as Sam thinks) were argued for very weakly imo.
-
I don't think he knows enough about it, and I don't think he evaluates what he doesn't actually know well. If that makes sense.
-
Yeah, he comes across as very assertive, though, like he's 'teaching' you when his argument is just absurdly myopic.
-
The only adjective I can think of is arrogance, though I'm not sure that is correct.

Tyson's criticism of your writing/debating style is nonsense. You're already crystal clear. Please don't dumb down for morons.
-
I agree. His argument that what u say can be misinterpreted was exactly what Cenk used to argue against you.

When a speaker is as precise/articulate as
@SamHarrisOrg , most misunderstandings are a problem of the listener not the speaker. -
Even NDT conceded he's a superior communicator. Yet that fact, makes Sam respnsble 4 msundrstndgs? New paradox.
-
Haha. Spot on.
