Strawson goes from "we don't understand physical stuff" to "obviously consciousness is physical." Seems dodgy to say the least

But our enjoyment of first-person subjective experience is sufficient for neither 1) explaining it nor 2) understanding it

@nytimes if we don't know enough to rule physical matter out, is it not fallacious to say it's definitely physical? -
Considering there is literally no evidence that it's anything BUT physical, don't believe it can be fallacious.

I'm not entirely against the argument, but I feel the way it's shaped there isn't logical. Maybe need to re-read.

@nytimes Acknowledging that matter is fundamentally mysterious, doesn't demystify consciousness in the slightest.Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

So can we expect a 2nd podcast with David Chalmers? As you didn't seem to have addressed this "hard problem of matter"

I like to keep things simple, I like to think everything is physical even on a quantum level.

I'm no expert but I can not see any reason to believe consciousness is anything but physical (Matter/Energy)

Exactly, consciousness is subjective experience. Nothing hard or problematic about it.
@SamHarrisOrg -
Also epiphenomenal. Think emphasising the difference between property and substance dualism might clear up a lot of confusion.
@SamHarrisOrg -
All physical properties are objectively reducible, but affective properties (emotions) are subjective and often irreducible.
