The only plausible explanation is that Sam Harris was kidnapped by Jonathan Haidt's Classical Liberals, cloned, and now watches his Twitter feed through glass as his clone destroys his good name. Is there any other explanation that even makes sense?
#WhatHappenedToSam -
Being true to his deeply flawed conservative rhetoric has been (slightly) more profitable than
@SamHarrisOrg trying to be remotely intellectually honest -
I guess Sam got jealous.

I wonder how many dissenters in the comment section actually know anything about
@QuilletteM or who are just anti Sam Harris lol simple parrots. I do genuinely wonder though. I really wish there were a way to measure it. -
Probably most of them. Quillette's founder, who used to work for far-right Rebel Media, was pretty clear that she wanted to create a website not about facts or evidence, but about opposing what she sees as the "liberal" view on science. Hence why they push eugenics.

So disappointed. I have listened to you and read your books since my uni days in the mid 2000s when there were lots of critical and well thought out discussions between yourself, Dawkins, Hitchens and Dennet. You have lost something vital.
-
Notable decline of acuity + pertinence since he began monetizing discussion. Every podcast episode now includes a sales pitch complaining about "forces conspiring to make honest conversations on hard topics, rare". Absurd. Alas, he's earning far more then Bertie Russell ever did.
-
He's a public thinker - its his income to monetize his thoughts. He's doing it in a completely legitimate and reasonable way. A completely free podcast and informative twitter feed is extremely generous, considering.
-
Naturally. But when he claims, repeatedly, that the channel hasn't affected the message, he's wilfully fooling himself. "Conspiring forces that make honest conversations rare?" In the age of ubiquitous unfettered chatter? Tin foil hat material. Beneath the author of End of Faith.
-
In my country, non ultra-left dialogue and opinions has definitely become more rare in terms of being public and in mainstream media. But I agree its a little overblown in general. I suppose its just a general pushback.
-
1/2 I'm presuming your country is Venezuela. Of course its overblown. We now have populist govs in Europe shutting down universities/NGOs (Hungary), politicising courts (Poland), attacking geographic reality (Brexit), and advocating mass deportations of Roma (Italy).

I tried to read
@QuilletteM based on your recs, but couldn't get passed@clairlemon herself. Some of the articles are good but she seems much more snarky and opinion driving than I would like from someone claiming to be open. -
Separate your emotions from the facts or logic (I completely understand how difficult that can be). If what is said is true or logical, that's all that really matters :) discard the crap keep the rest
-
That's hardly the issue.
