1. That graph is a joke 2. Sam has been on infowars??
What a liar you are! I never said Sam specifically was on infowars. But his friend Dave Rubin has been! Sam and many IDWs have been on Fox news! Get out you liar!
Your guest wasn't up to your usual standards.
Definitely a different sort of guest for Sam. Not a lot of thoughtful reflection or dialogue about the nuances/morality of negotiation (although Sam did try to engage him in this way, he didn’t seem to bite)
I don't know where to begin. "That's an excellent question!!" How many times was that said? I also don't think that Voss actually knew how bills are traced, but instead acted like it was a big secret. I could go on.
Yes, he was quite excited about that one
Judging by the comments, plenty of others felt the guest was also sub par. Always interesting to find out that others feel the same way you do.
I thought it was a great podcast. Chris Voss is a plainspoken man, which I'm sure is a result of his years in hostage negotiation.
I found the interview with Dr. Nina Shapiro to be extremely underwhelming, a good example of how you can listen to someone speak for an hour without learning anything due to vague, unsatisfying replies to your questions. Sadly, this interview with Chris Voss was even worse.
Yeah, I sadly agree here. These episodes felt a bit like infomercials. I figure Sam needs to create content and it's gotta be difficult to always have great guests to fill slots but neither guest seemed to really hit the ball back over the net.
Agree. Long form discussions like podcasts have been wildly successful for a reason. Theyre whats needed to properly cover complicated topics like conciousness or politics. The simpler the topic, the less need for a long winded discussion. Im sure Sam will quickly figure this out
I think it easily could have been a fascinating discussion even over an hour. Just seemed like the guest wasn't that bright.
That's completely fair. I see no reason such a topic couldnt work with a more engaging guest. Its just higher risk. The IDW wave is going so strong, and its what his audience wants most Id assume. Going off that topic seems questionable considering the high risk/ low reward ratio
It does nothing to diminish my interest in the podcast or my admiration for SH. Can't hit it out of the park every time.
So interesting! As always, great questions by Sam.
Chris Voss may’ve been the least articulate, least engaging guest you’ve ever had on the podcast. I see that his credentials and track record are very impressive, but none of that comes through in this man’s performance during the interview. Really sounds oafish for much of it.
Why isn't it up on @GooglePlay?
Thanks for the engaging content Sam. As always your efforts are appreciated.
