I’m not at all convinced that I was right. Events at UIUC would suggest that I failed miserably to account for the challenges of isolation in my modeling. Gloating is never attractive. This is quintessential @ADPaltiel: self-effacement and humility. It’s why he’s one of my role models and it’s how we all need to be thinking right now. We get things right, we get things wrong, and we learn from both of these.

I guess I see "right" as not necessarily always correct in this instance. I just wish that some colleges would have listened to the experts, the modeling and based their decisions on what we knew at the time, rather than submitting themselves to a completely predictable outcome.
