    What an appalling speech from Ms. Mordaunt. That this was delivered at The Carter Center, an organization devoted to advancing peace and democracy worldwide, makes it even more tone deaf. There seems to be no limit to the ideological extremism of some in the Conservative Party.

    I found video of that Penny Mordaunt US-tour speech and it sounds worse than it even reads. To be clear, Mordaunt is framing Brexit as a war and telling America it has a responsibility to be on our side and against the EU, "because peace and prosperity don't happen by accident".

    Agree with but let’s not forget that the dominant variant in the World is the UK/Kent variant (in 80+ countries). This works two ways. The Government is the link. It’s mishandling of the pandemic has had a terrible impact at home & abroad.

    1/ Government is now warning us about local lockdowns or delays lifting restrictions because of the India variant. But why did they let this happen? Three times Government has made major errors on Covid border measures which worsened pandemic. Why don’t they learn? A thread 👇🏼

    It took just over 100 days for calls that the up its game on /. That’s the least surprising event I can think of. The conflict is never far away. The has to work to change the status quo.

    Briefing by 's : Calls on Biden admin to shrug off its lethargy and appoint a senior envoy to Israeli-Palestinian conflict whose "mandate should not be return to status quo, but to address the underlying issues… including the permanent occupation"
