I will settle for widespread, public disavowal by fellow economists.

Leave it to
@JoshuaSGoodman to offer a pithy, kind, and substantive reply. I typically top out at 2 outta 3. -
Still violated my cardinal rule that the best strategy on Twitter is not to respond to those who evince no interest in reflection. An inauspicious start to my Day of Atonement.

I take comfort in knowing that these two happened back to back. Lady econ Twitter will win out in the end.pic.twitter.com/34s7eigsu9

Thanks for the screen cap. Hanson blocked me for criticizing his “redistribute sex” argument.

Do you think there should be a rule, and censure for violating the rule? Or just want to censure people you & your friends don't like? If a rule, what rule do you propose?
-
We're trying to think through how to deal with negative externalities you create for those in our profession. They're extremely costly and you clearly haven't internalized those costs.
-
The rule would probably be more specific than "don't make us cringe when we hear what you say in public".
-
Well, the rule is: "Don't go against the current Liberal Narrative." I guess the end point will be a Progressive Sharia Council in economics, passing fatwas against the "disbelievers" and "blasphemers."

I'm sorry, you think Robin Hanson should be disbarred? The best response is to articulate why his point is wrong, not a professional thought police. Many fair-minded people have thought the timing odd.
Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

It’s 2018. We no longer excommunicate people we don’t like.
-
Clearly you haven’t been following Twitter. Or Facebook. Or Google. Never heard of Jason Damore or Alex Jones. Lefties excommunicate daily, and twice on Sunday. You should get out of your cave more often.
