Today we celebrate the life of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. His activism helped bring about true legal equality for black Americans, finishing what the Emancipation Proclamation started one full century earlier. His contributions to our great country were and remain invaluable.

The filibuster ensures that slim majorities can change the law of the land only with the support of a strong consensus. It protects the country from radical proposals like your party’s federal election takeover. Besides, the 52 senators against you ARE the majority. That’s math.
