On the Owen thing: I don't want or need the gory details, but my expectation of any sports or esports organization is if they kicked someone off their team there would be a statement stating why. Also hard for Wizards to set a precedent if they don't say anything at all.

Word. In every real sport, if a player leaves the team, there is the ruling and the statement regarding why and when/if they are coming back from the league. Agreed, omit the gory details, let the fans know whats up.

I perceive the opposite. It seems like in other real sports, the gory details are typically made public by some third party. Then companies address situations with statements.

Agreed. It makes Wotc look really unprofessional with regards to handling issues like this. Something like "severe breach of our expected behavioral standards outside the game" is already good enough.
