    I don’t disagree with the “Bernie or Bust” stance. The DNC is complicit with white supremacy, mass incarceration, voter suppression, wealth inequality and imperialism. They won’t change until they face consequences. However that should be done by organizers not shock jocks.

    I don't think it's necessarily a bad game per se but all the "GM advice" various communities have developed is actually beyond what the game can feasibly support We really are back in the zone of "whatever works for your table is good"

    D&D is a fundamentally *weird* game with inconsistent ideas and a meta that's grown beyond its control the impulse to tell "serious" stories with it while still having your comedy and horror is a symptom of that uncontrollability imo

    honestly, I think a lot of D&D works better if you imagine it as a cartoon — hammerspace, flashy energy, weirdly telescoping monologue time, constantly getting hit in the "good guy area" but a *lot* of the player base (me included, when I played it) is super hostile to that!!!

    In retrospect I think that this contributed to the Curse of Strahd game I was running not working out. I couldn't make that kind of cartoony action mesh with even B movie Hammer style horror.
