There are several factors here. Electricity can be produced cleanly, by wind, hydrogen release, solar and other means. The even bigger issue is that electric cars have no harmful emissions- no carbon monoxide, particulates, or greenhouse gas to pollute the air we breathe.

Our local utility company already plans to shut down some of its coal fired plants because solar and wind have proven to be a cheaper option. This isn’t driven by the Government.
