and narrow the field of candidates, which will help the democratic process. As a fellow #LGBTQ candidate for federal office, I am in his debt, as are all members of this community who dare to push boundaries and seek public office like any other well qualified candidate.

I also have to compliment the American public. If there were hate memes based on Mayor Pete’s sexuality, I didn’t see them. If there were objections to his presidency based solely on who he loves, I didn’t see them. Perhaps he was too young for some, but I’d have to agree-
