Monica, too often the whole story isn't told, often the 'how, what next" are omitted from reporting. That kind of journalism is everywhere. Doom-scroll reportage gives people the wrong impression that catastrophe is everywhere. They have tuned out, their numbers are growing.

It can be many things obviously and done at different levels of β€œgood”(or otherwise). Not my point though. This sort of journalism in less than good hands? Not sure that gets to a standard that can be trusted.

Recommendation #4: DVA should advise govt of its funding needs, R#5 - remove the DVA average staffing cap. R#6 increase protections for those giving evidence to the Royal Commission.

Recommendation #1 - is about simplifying and harmonising Veteran compo and rehabilitation leg. #2 - by March 2024 'eliminate the backlog of claims", and govt should give DVA the resources it needs to do that. (and costs not be offset in DVA)

the limited ways that Austn. Governments have responded to these previous inquiries + reports. There is insufficient awareness + recognition of the key role families play. Info abt available support is limited + the quantity, quality and accessibility to supports too varied.

Is she friends with your dog or is he the enemy? There's a man who walks along McCrae Beach with his cat on a leash. The cat never seems too enthusiastic about it. Pretty sure it's not just the cold. Even the dog's & their walkers can't believe it when they see the 2 of them.
