    🇺🇦 The must immediately lift visa requirements for any Ukrainian seeking refuge here. Give entry now on humanitarian grounds & sort paperwork later. Ireland has already enacted such an approach. Continued application of an inhumane UK immigration system indefensible

    . has denied entry to a 69 yr old Ukrainian widow, fleeing the fighting in Kharkiv, to join her daughter in the UK. They suggested she apply for a visitor visa or remain in France, where she has no relatives & doesn’t speak French. Sickening.

    Absolutely this. Key questions to be considered as to the interaction of scientists, public and government in our society. The knowledge base is there - why wasn't it heard?

    One of the most troubling aspects of the UK pandemic has been the profound lack of curiosity among the scientific establishment about how, with such a phenomenal science base, we did so catastrophically badly. This is barely acknowledged, let alone considered.
