You are doing online meetings right. Teach the others so we don't all suffer

Did you join yet another call where someone (it's always been a man in my personal experience) forgets to mute before they pee? Of course most of my life in tech I've been the only woman in the meeting so of course it was a man....

One of the best teams features is when you join and it says "it looks like there are already 10 other people in this meeting, would you like to stay muted?"

I really appreciate that when you're talking with the mic muted, it actually has a message displayed saying "yo - your mic's muted!". I find it comforting when people come by my desk to talk when I'm on a call

I do this because there is a > 50% chance that meeting attendees would hear from the whiny bulldog if I didn't. And then the whole discussion gets derailed if a new person is in the meeting because they have to ask if it is an elephant or goat or baby.

I’ve heard stories of Buster on conference calls. I myself recently joined late to a call, missing intros, and no one knew I was there until I said goodbye an hour later.

With a gaming background I always ask myself why voice activation or push to talk is not a thing in enterprise software
