    This wonderful object is in our lab undergoing treatment by our horologist. It is a clock with planetary models, made c1830. You can see the difference cleaning is making by looking at the dial faces in the below images.

    This great object was also in our lab recently. It is a foot scraper, made in Sudan in the early 20th century, and is in the form of a sitting dog. It was with us for a spot of cleaning.

    We've been enjoying the trend today. To join in, here is an image of an object taken in our lab last year. This is a collar was worn by a dog trained to locate wounded soldiers on the battlefield during the First World War.

    In our lab today Conservator Cheryl is removing rust from this child's spinal carriage. She is starting with a lightly abrasive surface to remove the loose corrosion.

    Our team have removed the wooden plinth that surrounds Rocket so we can secure the locomotive and prepare to move it. As the move will take several hours, we'll be sharing some of Rocket's history as well as what's happening tonight in our Tweets tonight
